The City School International Dubai (TCSI) places great emphasis on actively engaging students in their learning process, fostering positive and respectful relationships, and cultivating a strong sense of belonging within the school and wider community. The school is committed to respecting, valuing, encouraging, supporting and empowering its students – providing them with the necessary tools to achieve success.
TCSI recognises the importance of student well-being and has implemented various activities and learning opportunities to promote it. The well-being curriculum is integrated into different subjects and co-curricular activities, ensuring that it becomes a part of everyday practice. Through these initiatives, students learn new skills that contribute to their growth, flourishment and overall success.
To further support students’ well-being, TCSI utilises a range of data sources, including internal school data, the KHDA well-being survey report, Pupil Attitudes to Self and School (PASS) data, and Cognitive Ability Test (CAT4) data. By analysing this information, the school identifies students who may require additional support to enhance their well-being. In such cases, TCSI actively involves and engages parents in a collaborative effort to work together and assist their child in excelling not only academically but also in various aspects of their lives.
By prioritizing students’ well-being and involving multiple stakeholders in the process, TCSI aims to create a nurturing and supportive environment where students can thrive and succeed holistically.
TCSI’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Policy
The City School International (TCSI) acknowledges child protection as an integral part of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students. The school has established a policy that outlines the actions it will take to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the students under its care.
These guidelines serve as a reference for school management authorities and all staff members, providing direction and guidance in addressing allegations or suspicions of child abuse. The policy equips school personnel with essential information to be vigilant and aware of how to respond in situations where child abuse may be a concern. In addition, it emphasises the importance of seeking collaboration with external authorities for the best advice when abuse is suspected.
TCSI’s primary goal is to support the holistic development of children, fostering their security, confidence and independence. The school is committed to raising awareness among both teaching and non-teaching staff about the importance of safeguarding children. Every member of staff in the school community is expected to exercise a duty of care in all areas of the school.
In case of any child protection or safeguarding concerns, individuals can reach out to the respective heads of section. Alternatively, they can directly contact the Designated Safeguarding Lead via email at erum.ali@tcsidxb.ae. This ensures that an appropriate action is taken promptly to address and resolve any child protection issues that may arise.
By aligning its policies and procedures with the Ministry of Education’s policy on child protection, TCSI establishes a consistent and comprehensive approach to safeguarding, reinforcing the importance of creating a secure and nurturing environment for all students under its care.
